What We Do

Engineering & Design

MCS Civil combines in-house engineering and surveying capability with specialist external consultants to deliver practical design solutions across civil infrastructure projects.

Our directly employed surveyors and engineers provide modelling, drafting, drone surveying and design review, supporting our project teams from planning through to construction. Where specialist design expertise is required, we engage qualified industry professionals in accordance with our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.

Our approach is grounded in constructability, project requirements and actual site conditions. By integrating engineering, surveying and construction knowledge, we can identify design considerations early, support informed decisions in the field and ensure solutions are practical to build.

Frequently asked questions

MCS Civil can be engaged during tendering, design development or pre-construction planning, as well as during delivery. Early engagement allows us to review scope requirements, construction methodology, access constraints, plant selection and sequencing to identify practical considerations before works commence.

Yes. MCS Civil can price defined work packages or coordinate multiple construction disciplines, depending on project requirements. We work with principal contractors, developers and project partners to establish scope boundaries, interfaces, deliverables and responsibilities before commencement.

To prepare an accurate estimate, we typically require drawings, specifications, schedules of quantities, geotechnical reports, site access details, project programs and relevant technical requirements. Where information is incomplete, our team can identify assumptions, exclusions and outstanding items requiring clarification.

MCS Civil works to applicable project specifications, contractual requirements and relevant standards. Our quality management processes operate within an ISO 9001:2015 framework, supporting inspection and test planning, quality documentation, verification and the management of non-conformances in accordance with project requirements.

Our project teams coordinate labour, plant, subcontractors and construction sequencing against project milestones and site requirements. We work with client representatives and other contractors to manage work fronts, access, hold points, design changes and interfaces between construction packages as site conditions and priorities evolve.

MCS Civil assesses workforce, equipment, transport, accommodation and site readiness requirements against the proposed commencement date. Our directly owned fleet and in-house mobilisation capability support resource planning; actual mobilisation timeframes depend on equipment availability, personnel, approvals and project-specific requirements.

MCS Civil operates an Integrated Management System covering quality, environmental management, occupational health and safety, and information security. Project-specific requirements are addressed through applicable management plans, risk assessments, safe work documentation, inductions, inspections and compliance records.

MCS Civil combines engineering, surveying and construction experience to review design information against site conditions, construction methodology, access and sequencing.
